Title:
IEEE 1394 DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3882463
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IEEE 1394 device that matches a power class recognized by a bus manager with that in an actual operating state even when other operating power supply is selected after start of operation.
SOLUTION: A voltage detection section 6 discriminates whether or not an output voltage of a power supply circuit 2 is a reference voltage or over. A code generating section 7 generates a code denoting power class information that is information denoting whether the device is in operation by a power supply supplied through a serial bus or its own power supply on the basis of the discrimination result by the voltage detection section 6. A converting point detection section 8 resets a PHY(Physical layer circuit) 5 when detecting a change in the discrimination result from the voltage detection section 6. When the PHY 5 is reset, the PHY 5 conducts self-identification, includes the code denoting the power class information generated by the code generating section 7 to a Self-ID packet for the transmission to the bus manager and outputs the resulting packet.
