A display state calculating means 18 is provided with a projection range calculator 21 for computing the real projection range of a projector 2, based on imaging data stored in an image storage 11, when a test pattern stored in a test pattern storage 17 is displayed on a screen 3; a surplus region area ratio calculator 25 for computing the area ratio from a projection range and a surplus region other than the display range on the screen 3; a display region determining section 26 for confirming that the projection range is larger than the display range; a pixel distortion calculator 27 for computing the ratio of the maximum value and the minimum value of the display areas on the screen 3 per one pixel of the display device of the projector 2; a display threshold determining section 28 for comparing a correction result of the display range with respect to the projection range; and a projection state display 30 for making the correction result displayed on the screen 3.
