Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image erasing device which reduces a burden on a user in checking the number of reuses of a sheet.SOLUTION: An image erasing device has a transfer part, a readout part, a color erasing part, a printing part, and a control part. The transfer part transfers along a transfer path a sheet having an image formed thereon. The readout part is arranged along the transfer path and reads out the image on the sheet. The color erasing part is arranged downstream of the readout part and erases the image on the sheet. The printing part prints marks at printing positions along a transfer direction on a prescribed printing surface of the sheet that has passed through the color erasing part. In accordance with a readout result from the readout part, when existing marks are printed only on a single side of the sheet, the control part sets the side having the existing marks printed thereon as the prescribed printing surface, and when existing marks are printed on both sides of the sheet, the control part sets the side having more existing marks printed thereon as the prescribed printing surface.
