To provide an image diagnostic apparatus hindering an interlocking function from working even if a bed is moved, until a distance between a frame and the bed with a possibility of actual interference is out of a predetermined range.
The image diagnostic apparatus comprises the frame equipped with an image forming means for forming an image of a subject, and an opening into which the subject is sent; and the bed equipped with a top plate for placing the subject, and a top plate moving means for supporting the top plate and horizontally and vertically moving the top plate in the longitudinal direction of the top plate within the opening. This image diagnostic apparatus has a distance measuring means for measuring a distance between the opening and the top plate or between the opening and the subject placed on the top plate; a determining means for determining whether the distance measured by the distance measuring means is within the predetermined range; and a top plate control means for impeding the movement of the top plate in a direction of getting out of the predetermined range when the measured distance is out of the predetermined range based on a determined result by the determining means.
