Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display and a method for erasing an image in which a color image can be displayed with ink by fixing ink onto a recording medium and the color image on the recording medium can be erased, as required, by an image erasing means.
SOLUTION: The image display comprises means 1 for imparting ink onto a recording medium 10 depending on image data, and means 4 for erasing an image formed on the recording medium 10 by the ink imparting means 1. Assuming the solubility parameter (SP value) of a substance in ink remaining on the recording medium 10 after imparting ink is SPp, the SP value of a substance composing the surface of the recording medium is SPm, and the SP value of a substance composing the surface of the image erasing means is SPc, the SPp, SPm and SPc satisfy the relation: &verbar SPp-SPm&verbar >&verbar SPb-SPc&verbar .
