PURPOSE: To perform the high definition image display by performing the D/A conversion of image data read out from a frame buffer memory after adding correction data simultaneously read out from a correction data memory to be displayed on a CRT.
CONSTITUTION: Image data DP inputted and stored in a frame buffer memory 2 is read out at every pixel in the order of scanning a CRT 4 under the control of a CRT control section 1. The read image data DP is converted to an analog video signal by a D/A converter 6 and displayed on the CRT 4 after adding correction data DC simultaneously read out from a correction data memory 5. At this time, the contents of the correction data DC can be optimized at every display position of the CRT 4 by writing in a correction data memory 5. Further, the compensation processing is performed for the storage data in the memory 2 but for the data read out from it. Thus, rewriting of the storage data of the memory 2 is not required and the CRT 4 performs the high definition image display.
