An image formation apparatus 1 includes sheet presence/absence detection means 9 (9A, 9B, 9C) to detect the presence/absence of a sheet at a predetermined portion by ON/OFF based on the presence/absence of a sheet load, shaking determination means 11 that determines there is shaking if the number of times of change in ON/OFF states of the sheet presence/absence detection means is equal to or more than a prescribed number of times, and control means 20 that controls operation of the image formation apparatus 1 at normal mode if the shaking determination means determines there is no shaking, and switches to first emergency mode to control operation of the image formation apparatus 1 if the shaking determination means determines there is shaking.
