PURPOSE: To prevent a cassette from being disengaged and falling from a device proper and the subsequent fracture thereof by applying the constitution wherein a sheet storage device is prevented from being drawn out while the engagement member thereof is engaged with a stepped part at the position where nearly the whole of the device is drawn out of the device proper.
CONSTITUTION: A stepped part 52 is provided at the front side of a direction for mounting and demounting the cassette 1 of a device proper 11 and also a stopper 46 is provided at the front side of a direction for mounting and demounting the cassette 1. When the cassette 1 is loaded to the device proper 11, the deep side thereof is placed on rails 12 and 12, and pushed in a G direction. Then, the upper part of the stopper 46 is pressed downward due to the slope 53 of the device proper 11 and the upper part of the stopper 46 is deformed to be even with the upper surface of the cassette 1. Thereafter, when the stopper 46 exceeds the stepped part 52, the deformation of the stopper 46 is eliminated and the stopper 46 and the stepped part 52 are engaged with each other. Also, the stepped part comes in contact with the body of the cassette 1, thereby preventing the deformation of the stopper 46 and making it impossible to pull out the cassette 1 easily in an H direction.
