Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus and the like that can appropriately rotate and output an image based on the feature quantities of images of lines included in the image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a control unit; and an image forming unit that forms an image processed by the control unit. The image forming unit can expand the resolution in one of a main scanning direction and sub scanning direction. The control unit extracts line images from the image, determines angles formed by the line images and the direction in which the resolution can be expanded, when the feature quantity for the line image forming the narrow angle is larger than the feature quantity for the line image forming the wide angle, rotates the image by 90 degrees, and outputs the image to the image forming unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
