Abstract:
To stop power supply to a power system for detecting an object within a predetermined time of transition to a power-saving state.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus makes a transition to a second power state lower than a first power state, and causes the image forming apparatus to make a transition from the second power state to the first power state. When the transition is made to the second power state in response to the current time reaching a set time, the image forming apparatus is restricted from making a transition from the second power state to the first power state in response to detection of an object approaching the image forming apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
