To provide a digital/analog image forming apparatus capable of coping with both of digital and analog methods, saving a space and forming an image on a recording paper having good operability.

This image forming apparatus comprises a digital image forming section 3 for executing image forming by receiving a digital image signal of CAD or the like and an analog image forming section 2 for forming a copy image from a manuscript. Each of the image forming sections 3, 2 can independently execute its operation and the independent image forming sections 3, 2 are so constituted that they are vertically provided in a laminated condition. A leg section 4 of a device having both of the image forming sections 3, 2 is shortened or extended so that the image forming sections 3, 2 can be lifted or lowered. The image forming apparatus has an operation section for selecting the lifting operation or lowering operation and operating it.
