Abstract:
To provide high safety to a human body in low cost when an image forming apparatus having a laser scanner is opened by a method wherein an operation of detecting open or close of an openable cover is surely cooperated with an operation of blocking laser light from the laser scanner.
The image forming apparatus comprises the laser scanner having an image information light emitting means for emitting laser light, a laser shutter which is of a means for blocking laser light on an as-needed basis, and the openable cover which is openably provided to the mainframe of the image forming apparatus. The laser shutter integrally has functions of an open/ close operation detecting means for the openable cover and a laser light blocking means.
