Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress a blade buckling cleaning failure caused by the difference in a frictional coefficient of a cleaning blade between a paper passing region and a paper non-passing region on a photoreceptor surface, has a little wear amount on the photoreceptor surface and good transfer property even when the environment changes, and can provide high-quality images with high productivity for a long period of time.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is configured to develop an electrostatic latent image, which is formed by electrification and exposure on a surface of a photoreceptor drum where a photosensitive layer is deposited on a conductive support, with a toner containing an external additive, and to transfer the formed toner image onto a transfer material by a transfer unit; and the image forming apparatus includes a cleaning unit having a cleaning blade for removing a transfer residual toner from the photoreceptor surface, the cleaning unit disposed on a downstream side of a transfer position along a rotation direction of the photoreceptor. The transfer unit is used at a transfer current value of 40 to 70 μA. The surface layer of the photoreceptor drum contains fluorocarbon resin fine particles.
