Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image forming apparatus which effectively utilizes an internal space thereof.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: and LED array 140 which exposes a photoreceptor 131 to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor 131; a developing unit 133 which develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor with developer, to form a toner image on the photoreceptor; a transfer section which transfers the toner image formed on the photoreceptor to a recording medium; and a fixing apparatus 150 which fixes the transferred toner image on the recording medium. A retreat space 180 is arranged in an area adjacent to the photoreceptor 131, for moving the LED array 140 when the photoreceptor 131 is dismounted/mounted. The retreat space 180 is used as a ventilation duct where air for cooling an imaging unit 130, including the photoreceptor 131 flows, during printing operation of the image forming apparatus.
