Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of improving serviceability and reliability, its manufacture and its maintenance method.
SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a sub unit 3. The sub unit 3 has a non-volatile RAM 34 storing ID information used in the production process of parts constituting the image forming device, the ID information of an image forming device body, the history information of the parts utilized at the time of service activity, and maintenance information. In the production process and at the time of the service activity, the terminal of a support tool is connected to a communication I/F 37, and necessary information stored in the RAM 34 is selectively read out in accordance with a readout command from the support tool and displayed on the display screen of the support tool.
