Abstract:
To suppress the generation of mist.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium by discharging liquid comprises: a liquid discharge part which includes a plurality of liquid discharge heads, and discharges the liquid; a first liquid receiving part which receives the liquid discharged by the plurality of liquid discharge heads performing idle discharge not contributing to the image in a parallel fashion; a second liquid receiving part which receives the liquid discharged by the plurality of liquid discharge heads performing the idle discharge in a non-parallel fashion; and a control part which controls the liquid discharge part such that the plurality of liquid discharge heads perform the idle discharge toward the second liquid receiving part in a non-parallel fashion when an idle discharge total discharge amount being a total amount of the liquid discharged in the idle discharge is equal to or greater than a prescribed change threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
