Abstract:

To provide an image forming device capable of fixing a multicolor developing device during a developing operation with a simple configuration.

This image forming device has the multicolor developing device 6 in which plural developing units 6Y, 6C, and 6M are provided around a rotary shaft 6P and by which the specified developing unit is moved to a developing position opposite to an image carrier, and a developing drive means 9 by which a drive transmission member 36 is moved in the thrust direction of the multicolor developing device 6 and is connected to the developing unit at the developing position to drive it. The multicolor developing device 6 is supported movably in the thrust direction, is pushed and moved in the thrust direction after the connection of the drive transmission member 36, and is made in pressurized contact with a braking member 46.
