To provide an image forming device small in size and reduced in cost while keeping highly accurate image quality.
An image forming condition is controlled by providing the image forming device with a fixed image density sensor 8 where the intensity distribution of beam light emitted from an LED 81 is homogenized by a transmission type diffusion filter 83, and reflected light from the surface of the color patch 51 of a sample image formed on paper 50 is received by a photodiode 82 through a condensing lens 84. Since the device is provided with a light intensity homozenizing means for homogenizing the spatial light intensity distribution of the beam light emitted from a light emitting diode, the distortion in the light intensity distribution and dispersion among the respective light emitting diodes which can not be avoided in the case of using the inexpensive light emitting diode are corrected.
