Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can satisfactorily positively electrify an image carrier even when positive electrification and negative electrification of the image carrier are repeated.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 110 comprises: image carriers 100Y, M, C, K; electrifying devices 42Y, M, C, k that electrify the surfaces of the image carriers to a positive polarity; cleaning members 482Y, M, C, K that are in contact with the surfaces of the image carriers to recover toner attached to the surfaces of the image carriers; and a controller that controls voltage applied to the cleaning members. The controller applies a first voltage having a negative polarity to the cleaning members in a printing mode. The image carriers are an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer is a single layer and contains a charge generating agent, an electron transport agent, a binder resin, and a hole transport agent. The electron transport agent includes a compound represented by a specific formula.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
