Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that has improved workability.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an apparatus main body that has an image carrier that carries toner images; a transfer unit that has a transfer section that transfers the toner images carried on the image carrier to a sheet, and can make transition to a first closed state and a first open state with respect to the apparatus main body; an opening/closing unit that is arranged at a position separated from the image carrier compared with the transfer unit, and can make transition to a second closed state and a second open state with respect to the apparatus main body; and a link section that causes the transfer unit to be opened with respect to the apparatus main body in interlocking with an opening movement of the opening/closing unit, and causes the transfer unit to be closed with respect to the apparatus main body in interlocking with a closing movement of the opening/closing unit. The link section is engaged respectively with the transfer unit and the opening/closing unit, and permits transition of the transfer unit to the first closed state, while maintaining the opening/closing unit in the second open state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
