Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent theft of a consumable item stored in a device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an image forming unit 30; a storage container attachment unit 51; an engaging member 52; an engaging member driving unit 53; and a control unit 60. A storage container, such as a toner container storing a consumable item is attached to the storage container attachment unit 51. The engaging member 52 is engaged with the storage container to regulate the withdrawal of the storage container from the storage container attachment unit 51. The engaging member driving unit 53 drives the engaging member 52. The control unit 60 controls the engaging member driving unit 53. The control unit 60 switches, with the drive of the engaging member 52, between a locked state in which the engaging member 52 is engaged with the storage container and a non-locked state in which the engaging member 52 is not engaged with the storage container. In the locked state, the withdrawal of the storage container is regulated, and in the non-locked state, the withdrawal of the storage container is permitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
