To provide an image forming device which uniformly coats the surface of a photoreceptor with a lubricant in a prescribed thickness at all times even if the temperature of the surface of the photoreceptor changes.

The temperature of the surface of the photoreceptor l is detected by a temperature sensor 2, a solid lubricant 7 is pressed to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 by means of a spring 8 whose spring force is controlled by a controller 10 according to the detection value of the temperature sensor 2, and the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is uniformly coated with the lubricant by the solid lubricant 7 as the photoreceptor 1 rotates. Therefore, even if the temperature of the surface of the photoreceptor 1 changes, the lubricant is always uniformly applied to the photoreceptor 1 in a prescribed amount and in a prescribed thickness. This prevents a blade from being wrapped due to coating irregularity which is caused by an insufficient amount of coating and prevents image quality from deteriorating due to base soil which is caused by excess coating, and, therefore, ensures high quality image formation at all times.
