Abstract:
To provide a technique that can ensure safety and shorten FPOT with a small and inexpensive constitution.SOLUTION: In an image heating device, a control portion has a first semiconductor element connected to a first heating element group and a second semiconductor element connected to a second heating element group and connected to the first semiconductor element in series, controls power to be supplied to the first heating element group by controlling the first semiconductor element, and controls power to be supplied to the second heating element group by controlling the first semiconductor element and the second semiconductor element. The control portion has a safety element that can perform the operation for cutting off the supply of power to the first heating element group in response to the overheating of the heating elements included in the first heating element group. The maximum amount of heat generation per unit length in a width direction of the second heating element group is larger than the maximum amount of heat generation per unit length in a width direction of the first heating element group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
