To provide a means which prevents duplicate correction processing on a principal subject with respect to an image imaged by an imaging apparatus having a face authentication function.

A first file includes data of a first image generated by imaging a subject. A second file includes data of a second image obtained by preliminarily subjecting the first image to prescribed image processing, and a metadata for identifying the second image. Registered data showing features of a face being an authentication object is recorded in a memory. A face authentication part detects a face area from an image acquired from an image and determines whether the face area is an authentication object or not on the basis of registered data. A subject designation part designates a subject corresponding to the authentication object as a principal subject on the basis of the determination result of the face authentication part. An image processing part subjects an area corresponding to the principal subject of the image to image processing different from that for other areas. A control part disables image processing on the second image in response to detection of metadata from the image file.
