Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus which can prevent hot-line insertion of a package by a simple mechanism.
A printer has operation modes of a socket use mode where a DIMM socket is energized continuously, and a normal mode (socket nonuse mode) where a DIMM socket is not energized. The printer accesses a predetermined address of the DIMM during initial operation, and decides whether the DIMM is attached to the DIMM socket or not. The printer operates in the socket use mode when the DIMM is attached to the DIMM socket, but stops energization of the DIMM socket when the DIMM is not attached and operates in the normal mode.
