PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily determine the details of a number of pieces of image information including character strings in creation of an alternative image corresponding to the image information.SOLUTION: A document image browsing device 1 comprises: a character recognition part 13 that recognizes character strings in an acquired character string-containing image on the basis of a character string recognition rule; and an alternative image creation part 12 that creates an alternative image that is an enlarged image including character strings in the image with a position of the character strings in the character string-containing image as a reference, and a part of the character string-containing image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
