Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus configured to integrate a plurality of areas of an image in accordance with the type of a document even when an edge cannot be extracted from the image formed by reading the document, and an image processing program.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 10 includes a CPU 11. The CPU 11 detects a plurality of areas having characteristics of likelihood of foreground from an image obtained by reading a document, derives a direct distance between an outer edge of one area and an outer edge of the other area for each combination of two areas obtained from the above areas, derives the area of a gap part where the one area and the other area do not exist, from the area of an inclusion area which is an area of a predetermined shape including the one area and the other area, for each combination of two areas, and selects, for each of the areas, a combination of which the direct distance is within a predetermined range and the area of the gap part is minimum, to be integrated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
