Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption of a printing apparatus in a power saved state.SOLUTION: In a power saving mode of an MFP 10, power supply to a main CPU 400 and a sub CPU 300 is stopped, and power is supplied to only a proxy response hardware 200. Then, a fourth filter 214 roughly determines the protocol of a received packet and when required, starts the sub CPU 300 and sends the received packet to the sub CPU 300. If the received packet is multicasted and positionally predetermined information such as a UDP port number is detected, the fourth filter 214 starts the sub CPU 300.
