Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus capable of outputting color characters conspicuously in monochromatic output of a color image.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: an image data acquisition unit which acquires color image data; a region determination unit which separates a character image region of the color image data into a black character image region of black and a color character image region of colors other than black; and an image processing unit which performs predetermined image processing on an image of the color image data, wherein the image processing unit extracts an edge region, varying in image density, of the color character image region, and performs processing for emphasizing pixels of the color character image region including the edge region more than pixels of the black character image region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
