To provide an image processor generating a phase-shifted image to be used to generate an image of higher resolution without having a complicated mechanism.
The image processor reduces an image having resolution acquired by an imaging element. Reduced images of pixel shift phases 1 to 4 are different in phase from one another. Specifically, those reduced images are shifted in phase from one another by less than one pixel of the resolution of the reduced images. Thus, the image processor generates the plurality of reduced images obtained by reducing an image of second resolution lower than the first resolution of the input image of the first resolution acquired by the imaging element, and different in phase based upon the input image of the first resolution. The image processor generates a high-resolution image of the first resolution higher than the second resolution based upon the plurality of generated reduced images and control information regarding the generation of the reduced images.
