Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the quality of picture of an observation image in a laser treatment by reducing or removing smear in the laser treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A signal calculated with a mean calculation circuit 18 is cleared of a halation part H to extract a smear component exceeding a specified level, namely, of a high luminance with a high luminance part calculation circuit 21 and a slight correction, that is, a correction to expand the bottoms of a low level of amplification and extraction components is performed with a signal expansion circuit 22 and an LPF23. Moreover, the smear component is removed from an original image with a subtraction circuit 26. Here, a control circuit 26 works to operate the subtraction circuit 26 at a position where an output of a smear level calculation circuit 24, that is, a high luminance smear part, not the halation part H is detected and only when a laser is turned ON. In other words, this prevents malfunctioning caused by halation or others.
