The image projection device scans a light spot formed on a screen by a light beam emitted from a light source and reflected by a deflection reflector, and projects an image by supplying energy related to the value of an image memory that stores the image. The image projection device includes a light quantity corrector that supplies specified energy to turn on the light source in response to an output of a flicker comparator for comparing the value of the flicker calculator with the prior value, and corrects the energy applied to the light source with the value of a standard light quantity storage that stores the value of a photodetector for measuring the light quantity of the light source.
