Abstract:
To provide an image quality measurement method and an apparatus therefor capable of measuring a physical quantity related to image quality of a decoded image without the need for an input image.
The image quality measurement method and apparatus obtains a physical quantity depending on an image pattern from a decoded image or an encoded data stream, extracts a quantization scale at encoding from the encoded data stream, corrects the quantization scale by using the physical quantity depending on the image pattern, and obtains the physical quantity related to the image quality independently of the image pattern so as to measure the physical quantity related to the image quality of the decoded image without the need for an input image.
