PURPOSE: To always perform the image re-pickup of an appropriate position with an appropriate condition and to eliminate the danger of the erroneous erasure of an image by comparing detected fault element data with stored reference data, and performing the image re-pickup of the same part as the image of an object with the same condition when it is discriminated that the image re-pickup is necessary.

CONSTITUTION: At least either an image pattern or a body moving pattern is recognized and extracted by analyzing at least either reconstructed image information or body moving information by a body moving sensor 18. At least either a recognized image pattern or body moving pattern is compared with judging reference data for them stored in a memory device 15, and it is judged whether or not the image re-pickup is necessary. When it is judged that the image re-pickup is necessary, an image that fails the image re-pickup corresponding to the image to be image re-picked up is erased from the memory device 15. An image pickup condition for the next slice is re-set at a slice that fails the image re-pickup corresponding to the slice to be image re-picked up, and the top board of a bed 17 and an X-ray condition are recovered to their original states, then the image re-pickup is performed.
