An image reading unit A1 includes a substrate 10 having a predetermined width in the first direction x and a predetermined thickness in the second direction y, a light-receiving means 50 arranged close to one end of the substrate 10 in the first direction x, a lens member 40 for focusing light on the light-receiving means 50, a case 20 having an opening 22 at one end in the second direction y, and a fixing means 70 for fixing the substrate 10 to the opening 22, wherein a sidewall surface 23 having a predetermined width in the second direction y is provided at the opening 22, and the fixing means 70 presses the substrate 10 against the case 20 in the second direction y and applies a force in the first direction x to the other end of the substrate 10 in the first direction x so that one edge in the first direction x of the substrate 10 abuts on the sidewall surface 23.
