Title:
IMAGE RECEIVING MATERIAL FOR INK JET RECORDING AND SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07276785
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain image receiving paper causing no blur or decoloration in a case using water-soluble ink by providing an ink receiving layer containing perforated hollow particles composed of a thermoplastic resin and a resin binder on one surface of a base material.

CONSTITUTION: An ink receiving layer 11 containing perforated hollow particles 12 composed of a thermoplastic resin and a resin binder (e.g. water-soluble resin) is provided on one surface of a base material 13 (e.g. natural paper). The apparent specific gravity of the ink receiving layer 11 is pref. 0.5-1.0. As a result, an image receiving material for ink jet recording capable of forming a sharp image free from blur can be easily produced. Further, the image receiving material for ink jet recording is subjected to ink jet recording and pressure is applied thereto at temp. equal to or higher than Tg of the perforated hollow particles to impart excellent gloss to a printing surface.
