To execute digital exposure operation and the recording operation of a back print after a photosensitive material is made into a cut sheet by providing an image recorder with a back printing part arranged in the carrying path of the photosensitive material by a carrying means and set for recording the back print on the non-recording surface of the photosensitive material.

The image recorder 10 is constituted of a photosensitive material supply part 12, a cutter 14, a printer 16 recording the back print, an image recording part 18 and a sorting device 20. In the recorder 10, the photosensitive material Z drawn out from the supply part 12 and cut by the cutter 14 is carried upward first, carried in a horizontal direction next by making the recording surface thereof face upward and supplied to a developing machine. After the long-length material Z is cut to prescribed length corresponding to a print which is formed and made into the cut sheet, the recording operation of the back print and the digital exposure operation are executed. Then, the exposed material Z is supplied to the developing machine. Thus, the recorder which is excellent in stability specially with respect to vibration is obtained.
