To provide an imaging apparatus having a video camera section comprising CCD imaging devices of a mega pixel class at a low frame rate when a full pixel signal is read and easily adjusting a composition by increasing the frame rate during composition adjustment.
The imaging apparatus comprises: an image forming optical system for forming an image of an object; a pixel signal output means including a CCD image sensor that converts the image formed by the image forming optical system into an electric image signal and outputting the results and a drive control means that controls driving of the image sensor; a camera signal processing means for processing the pixel signal outputted from the pixel signal output means to produce the image data; and a motion detection means for detecting the motion of the object.
