Abstract:
To provide an in-wheel motor which can be manufactured at a low cost by permitting free rotation of the wheel when the motor body is faulty.
The motor body 1 comprises a motor stator 2 installed fixedly on the body side, and a motor rotor 3 arranged on the outer circumferential side of the motor stator 2. A wheel 4 is arranged on the outer circumferential side of the motor rotor 3 to rotate relatively and a centrifugal clutch 15 is fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the motor rotor 3. The centrifugal clutch 15 friction engages with the inner circumferential surface of the wheel 4 depending on an acting centrifugal force.
