PURPOSE: To make a user understand clearly and by intuition which direction the rotation should be given for obtaining horizontal or vertical state by providing a sensor for sensing inclination and a display indicating three images showing horizontal or vertical position, rotations in clockwise direction or counter clockwise direction to reach horizontal or vertical position.

CONSTITUTION: An LCD(liquid crystal display) is provided on a level and three kinds of images are displayed. When the level is in horizontal position, display like B consisting of a horizontal line denoting a plate is indicated. When the level vial should be rotated in counter clockwise to make it horizontal state, a display like A is indicated. When the level should be rotated in clockwise to make it horizontal state, a display like C is indicated. A level logic circuit automatically determines the moving direction to reach horizontal state by a least rotation and only the rotation direction is indicated for simplicity. If the level is put nearly vertically, the level vial is seen vertically.
