PURPOSE: To obtain the subject molded product having incombustibility and water resistance, capable of being massively produced, and useful as a wall material, etc., by immersing a mold having a paper-making screen in a slurry consisting mainly of sepiolite, vacuum-sucking the slurry to form a paper layer on the screen, demolding the formed paper, dehydrating and drying the molded product.
CONSTITUTION: The production of the objective incombustible molded product 10 having incombustibility and water resistance comprises producing a slurry 1 containing sepiolite as a main material and further containing methylaminoethyl methacrylate polymer, etc., as a strong cationic polymer and an acrylamide/acrylic acid copolymer, etc., as a strong anionic polymer in a total amount of 0.2-1.0wt.% based on the solid content of the raw materials, charging the produced slurry 1 in a slurry tank 2, immersing a molding device 3 having a screening mold 5 formed of a screening net in the slurry 1, subjecting the main body 4 of the molding device 3 to a vacuum suction using a vacuum pump 8, demolding the molded paper layer 9 formed on the screening mold 5, dehydrating the molded product and subsequently drying the molded product.
