To provide an incoming call identification system that identifies whether arrived information data are data to be received and stored by a data storage device or data to be received and outputted by a facsimile device and controls the identified data.
The incoming call identification system is provided with a data storage device that stores and processes received information, a facsimile device that inputs/ outputs information such as a document, and a control means that discriminates whether the received information is to be stored in the data storage device or is to be outputted by the facsimile device according to the format information of the received information as its control. The control means discriminates the received information through the detection of a CNG signal to be facsimile information after the data storage device automatically responds to the received information. The control means controls the data storage device to store the received information to be input data to the data storage device when the format information of a 1st page of the received information indicates exclusive use format paper for data storage or controls the data storage device so as to transfer the information from the data storage device to the facsimile device when the format information of the 1st page indicates no exclusive use format paper.
