Abstract:

To improve safety by detecting whether a guard is installed or not installed.

An induction heating cooker comprises a dedicated cooking container 4 placed on a top plate 2; a guard 5 provided around the dedicated cooking container 4, placed on an outer hull 1, and fitted with the top plate 2l; a detection coil 6 provided on the guard 5 and positioned on the outside of a heating coil 3; a light emitting portion 7 emitting light by a current induced to the detection coil 6; an inverter circuit 8 for supplying a high frequency current to the heating coil 3; controlling means 9 for controlling the inverter circuit 8; notifying means 10 for informing a user by notifying; display means 11 informing the user by displaying; a transmission window 12 provided immediately below the light emitting portion 7 of the outer hull 1 and enabling light to pass through; and a light receiving portion 13 for receiving the light of the light emitting portion 7 immediately below the transmission window 12. If the light passing through the transmission window 12 and detected by the light receiving portion 13 is not more than predetermined amount when cooking is started, it is informed and displayed that the guard 5 is not installed.
