Abstract:
PURPOSE:To brightly reproduce a picked-up image even if the image is picked up in the rear light state, by detecting the state where the picked-up image sinks in black and raising the signal level in accordance with this state to reproduce the image. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup signal controlled to a prescribed level is weighted by a weighting circuit 22, and the distribution of the signal level is detected by a distribution detecting circuit 23. A proportion of parts having a low signal level is obtained by the circuit 23 to control the gain of a signal processing circuit, and sinking in black of the image is improved. The weighting circuit 22, the distribution detecting circuit 23, a gain control circuit 24, a multiplying circuit 20, and a gamma correcting circuit 21 are provided and the state where the pickup-up image sinks in black is discriminated to increase the gain of the circuit and parts having a high signal level are compressed and outputted, thereby improving sinking in black of the image due to rear light or the like.
