To provide an information display device capable of displaying images such as a map and characters on a display section in an appropriate state in accordance with the operation state of a movable mechanism while suppressing the complexity of processing related to the control of the display images.

In a first casing 101 and a second casing 102 connected via the movable mechanism 103, the reference direction of direction detection in a direction detection section 158 is set not on the second casing 102 wherein the display section 104 is held but on the first casing 101. When the positional relationship between the first casing 101 and the second casing 102 is changed by the change of operation style and the direction of the display screen 104 toward a user is changed, a prescribed rotation processing is carried out to the display images in accordance with the operation state (opened state or closed state) of the movable mechanism 103 detected in an open/close detection section 153, and the image display is so controlled as to turn to the appropriate direction in accordance with the operation style.
