PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle a portable device with a new communication protocol appearing after system installation without changing an existent communication repeating device.
SOLUTION: A host device 10 or the communication repeating device 20 has a means for deciding the communication protocol of a portable device 30 according to reply information from the portable device 30 responding to polling. The communication repeating device 20 has a means for converting a command from the host device 10 to a specific portable device 30 into a communication protocol unique to the portable device 30, a means for transmitting part or the whole of the message of the command from the host device 10 to an arbitrary portable device 30 to the portable device 30 as it is, and a means for transmitting reply information from the individual portable devices 30 to the host device 10 as its is. The host device 10 relays communication data to the communication repeating device 20 as they are if the portable device 30 is not supported by the communication repeating device 20 and the host device 10 processes the communication protocol.
