When connected mutually to an electronic appliance 301, a host computer 101 retrieves a printer configuration file of a printer 201 which is an output destination of print data stored in the electronic appliance 301 from the electronic appliance 301. Then it acquires configuration information which shows capability and a status of the printer 201 from the printer configuration file of the printer 201, displays a printer driver setting screen based on the acquired configuration information, and receives operations of print setting and print start performed by a user. Then, if print setting and direction of print start are performed by the user, it generates the print data and write it to the electronic apparatus 301. Consequently, the print data can be written in the electronic appliance 301 by the operation same with writing directly to the printer 201.
