Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing server which can display map information and advertisement information which easily arouse users' interest and allow a high propaganda effect to be expected.
SOLUTION: The information providing server is provided with a region database wherein position information according to reduction indication indicating a reduced scale and a region file are made to correspond to each other with respect to position information having prescribed ranges for specifying specific regions within map information and a plurality of region files managed in a plurality of layers in accordance with reduced scales of the regions and an advertisement information database wherein one advertisement information is made to correspond to each region file. The information providing server specifies a region file in the lowest layer corresponding to designated position information from the region database and transmits advertisement information corresponding to the specified region file from the advertisement information database together with map information.
