An information providing server 100 analyzes contents of various collected information to estimate a location related to the information, and then provides the information including a position coordinate that shows the location to a display device 200. Accuracy of the position coordinate and period information that shows validity period of the information and the like are added to the information. The display device 200 receives those information, and displays an icon on a map in a display mode that is set based on the position accuracy and the period information. Such display operation allows a user to know a location related to the provided information and grasp position accuracy and validity period for a lot of information by browsing the map.
