An information providing method using an RFID tag 1 has a step of inputting information indicating that there has been a purchase into the RFID tag 1 when a commodity having the RFID tag 1 is purchased, a step of acquiring information written in the RFID tag of a purchase commodity by a reader-writer 4 which can be connected to the communication device, a step of sending the information written in the RFID tag, and an inherent number of the communication device to a predetermined server, and a step of acquiring the additional information corresponding to the information.
